Help Support Crohn's Disease Forum:

Angie - I have plank pictures from all over the place. Lol

Mark - CT 12/20. Scopes 1/30. Dr A was actually great yesterday. I'll have to retract some of my meanness. ;)

J.

Well guess who's CT got cancelled due to strep throat? Same kid who's lost 5 lbs this week because he couldn't swallow food. Ack! Anyway he is better. CT rescheduled for tomorrow am. I'll keep you posted.

Thank you!!!!!

J.

Bugger! But at least H is feeling better. :)

Good luck for tomorrow J, I hope more than anything that all goes well...:goodluck:

Thinking of you all,

Merry Christmas!!! And Dex, guess who's office was closed Friday and Monday???? Clearly he isn't dying (which I already knew) since I didn't get a phone call. I'll resume my stalking Tuesday morning and let you know.

Holiday Hugs,

J.

Well, as an UPS man, I suppose I'm a little surprised at how the Christmas holiday gets stretched out to include the day before and the day after.

If he feels good, I guess it's best he gets to enjoy the holiday w/o the poking and prodding anyway. I hope you've been able to suppress your worries and enjoy it as well!!

Well we don't get the Friday but Boxing day is a Public Holiday here as is Tuesday because Christmas Day fell on Sunday! :):):) I'm happy!

Dusty. :)

Well, yeah, I'm off Monday too because it fell on Sunday! No Boxing day here though...but I would love to see some of my bosses do my job, especially if I could choose the day:)

If you're happy, I'm happy:):)

Glad to hear it was unremarkable...hoping that it is good news for the scopes as welL!

Dex, my UPS guy has been coming at 7:30pm...how do you even find time to be on here this time of year?!?

It is good news but frustrating at the same time...... Dex is on here on his phone. Haven't you heard UPS lets them text and drive???? KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

J.

I'm an early a.m. networker:)

Is Hunter still feeling better? Are the scopes still scheduled?

Kathy, Brian looks like he's doing the PeeWee Herman!!

I like unremarkable but only if you get solid answers elsewhere! I know you know what I mean J. :)

Dusty.

Hunters complaints are intermittent. However his appetite is very poor. Scopes are 1/30. The sooner the better!

Oh and Kathy I am having a ball with My new camera. I've never had a good camera until now. And I just loved that picture of Claire and Penny. :)

J.

Sorry to hear that Hunter is not eating. I bet the scopes will give you some answers. Hopefully they will be able to get him in sooner.

Take care,
Vicky

J-I hope the scopes give answers...and good news. Fast too!! :)

Mark- Brian always acts goofy when required to wear a tie:) He was acting like he was modeling, but after looking at that picture...i forgot about pee wee herman...but you're right! Gotta get a new avatar fast!! :)

Thanks you all. I check this board to maintain what's left of my sanity. :). Last night my mother called to tell me she and my Dad are afraid hunter is anorexic or bulimic. Good grief!!!!!!!!!

I know you can never say never but I honestly don't think so. While he is very thin, he's still at like the 40th percentile for his height weight & age. I nearly lost it and got off the phone. I love my mother and have never hung up on her but I was close.

I just sent her a relatively long email explaining that I've got one precious child with Crohns who is having an MRI to rule out a brain tumor next week, a second child being worked up for GI issues, a full time job and a husband working nights AND that I don't need her throwing gasoline on my already burning "worry fire". Aaaaaaahhhhhhh!

I'm sure you all can relate.

J.

Ah hell J...

Just what you don't need and yeah, I can relate hun. Pre diagnosis Sarah became very thin , vomited quite frequently and had a poor appetite. Anorexia was tossed around by some of her friends and some family. The rational side of me was saying they mean well but the other was soooooo close to saying...WTF! Really look at her and what she is suffering and don't come at me with that crap! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. Even now with her vegan diet, and issues with certain foods, people that should know better continue to ask if she will have some of this or that or proclaim that surely a little bit of it won't hurt you! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr again!

I so hope you are able to get solid answers soon J. Good luck with the scopes, I wish they were earlier for you and Hunter. And Claire, bless her, I hope the MRI goes well and returns an unremarkable result!

Thinking of you, always.

I have a niece that has anorexia and that involves A LOT more than just having a poor appetite. That had to be a very frustrating conversation. We love our parents...but they don't always know when to be supportive/silent.
Hugs to you for your patience!

Oh J, I can certainly relate too! :ywow: Even if I'm not already worrying about the 'worst case', leave it to my mom to find something even worse for me to worry about!

My daughter is in her first year of university, just got her first semester marks and was unhappy with them. She stresses and overwhelms herself, so it was hours of tears, talk of quitting because 'I just can't do it', etc., etc. My mom happened to be here for part of this and this was when my mom brings up the conversation with me of an article she'd read regarding the many university students who have committed suicide because of overwhelming pressures, that I should be on top of it and later drops off the article! :frown: My daughter slept at a friend's house the next day... I kept telling myself it was ridiculous to have that in my mind but... you know how it is.... :angry-banghead::angry-banghead:

I, too, know she loves her grandchildren dearly and is just concerned but... :ywow:

Julie,

Just sending wishes that all goes well at Claire's MRI this week! :rosette1:

MRI was Saturday. Neuro on Wednesday...... Yes, I'm sure she's fine. Nonetheless, her mother isn't sleeping at all!

:)

J.

I bet you aren't J!...(((MEGA HUGS)))...:ghug:...sending you loads of love and luck hun, always.

Dusty.

Thanks Dusty. I should have also mentioned that we saw GI last week. He believes she still has some disease activity although we all agree that she's doing well overall. Her H&H has fallen below normal but it isn't critical like last time. We are doubling her iron dose and rechecking all that in 4 weeks.

Gotta get past Wednesday first.

J.

Do you expect the neuro results immediately or will you have to wait? I'm hoping it's immediate, good news!!

Is Hunter still doing OK?

When dr v scheduled the MRI on Sat it was so we could discuss at Weds visit. So I expect them tomorrow.

H is doing ok. Some days I think he needs the scope, some days he seems ok. We are going through with it though. Then at least we'll know.

J.
