I've had two infusions so far and it's working really well. I'm doing MUCH better than 2 weeks ago. No side effects so far at all.

Hi jo and welcome.
It might be worth having a look at the infliximab subforum (in treatment section). I am starting adalimumab (humira) on thursday and although nervous, I am looking forward to it sorting my crohn's out.
Good luck!

I had a few infusions and it worked really well, and tbh i prefered just going to hospital and sitting on a drip for a few hours every 6-8 weeks as opposed to messing about remembering to take pills and having to have bloods constantly checked.

Like i say for me it worked great,

thanks all im just a bit apprehensive with having the 2 reactions to azathriopine and 6mp
lets hope this one works x

hopefully you will be fine. When you have your first infusion they give you a little bit at first and keep a very close eye on you to make sure you don't have a reaction to it. I know my first time they kept me about 2 hours after It had finished just incase.

Did you express your concern about the reaction to your doctor? I had a horrible reaction to Remicade, but only when I was introduced for it a second time. After my scary episode I had to find a different medication, which is Cimzia. I was also VERY nervous about a reaction since I had such a bad one with Remicade. They assured me I would be fine and explained in very scientific terms the components of the drugs and why I would be ok, and what made the drugs different. Talk to your doctor and have them explain to you. It gave me a lot of piece of mind And everyone else is right, you will be monitored and help will be close by if you need it. Oh and Remicade worked a miracle for me the first time I took it. I was symptom free for almost two years.
