Is entocort any good?

Hi

I am now on entocort along with the humira injections, I have been on them now about ten days, and absolutely no difference if anything I think Im a little bit worse. Has anyone else got a good/bad result from this medication ??

It took a month for Entocort to kick in for me but when it did it did a great job of sorting me out! I started on 9mg but am now down to 3mg and it still seems to be doing it's job. When I asked my GI about it he said that it is common for it to take up to a month to kick in.
Sorry I don't know anything about humira.
I hope you get some relief soon. Could you get in touch with your GI and let them know what is happening

Entocort worked for me but that was years ago. I would call your GI or the GI nurse and tell them your concerns. Everyone is so different with these meds. Humira did nothing for me but it works great for other people. Check out the humira part of this forum.

well it didn't work and caused me to have huge swelling in my legs.. not something I can take I guess

Entocort worked briefly for me....but took a few weeks to start working. It never stopped my symptoms entirely, but did give me some relief.

I've only gotten worse since starting it, but have only been on it 5 days.

I was on prednisone but as soon as I went off my symptoms came back. Then took course of Entocort and I have been basically symptom free since March 2010. Plus Entocort had way less side effects than the prednisone.

I agree with Michele. Check with your GI. Everyone seems to respond differently and even something that worked once, might not work again even for the same person.

I was on Entrocort for months and my symptoms had subsided. The GI didn't want to leave me on it since I gained 20+ pounds while taking it. Changed meds for about a month and had a reaction and tried going back and is now not working at all. But it orginally took about a week to get used to it and actually work.

Weight Gain ??? I thought Entocort didnt have the bad side effects that steroids have ?? My appetite hasnt changed at all, if anything im not eating as much as I was. Has everyone gained weight when on it ??

I didn't gain weight with entocort either. Prednisone was a different story, however!
