Hi,

I usually have a problem with vegetables, fibrous foods and volume. However, all of a sudden 2.5 weeks ago, I started having problems digesting anything. My stomach swells immediately after eating, and I am alternating between diarrhea and constipation. Everything comes out like a whole foods store, canteloupe, parsley, green onion, dill, mussels, its all oily too. Sometimes its trying to get out 3 hours after I eat and other times it feels like if I eat a tomato skin or a pickle, it sits in there for days. This is lasting way too long and my go to of pureed cooked zucchini is a disaster.

Has anyone had this, is it a flare? Why is this so sudden and so painful? I am falling into a depression and feel like there is a balloon in my stomach at all times. Is this a symptom of Ileal Crohns?

Do you know if you have strictures? I had the same symptoms with a stricture. I would maybe get it looked at if you haven't already. They can lead to an obstruction if not treated.

Thank you so much for that. I feel like maybe I am going crazy and causing it by eating?

Did it take you a long time to figure out?
How long did it last before you went for help?
What were your symptoms like?

I don't have a gastro appt until July and I don't know if I should push for an earlier appt, so your advice is super helpful.

I was first diagnosed with CD last April. I thought I was having issues with my appendix. I would get severe pain in the RT lower quadrant. I would have days when I would have D and then I would go a week without going at all. I finally went in when I couldn't stand the pain anymore. I would try to get my socks on and it would hurt to lift my leg or bend over. I finally went in when I couldn't stand it anymore. The did blood work and told me it wasn't my appendix and told me if it still hurt the next day to come back. I was there first thing the next morning. They did a CT with contrast and poof you need a colonoscopy I'm pretty sure you have crohns. A week later I have the colonoscopy and found that it was indeed CD and I had a stricture.

I have Ileal Crohn's and I can definitely relate to the bloating! It's become more of a problem recently, I can go from being flat to looking 6-7 months pregnant! I can't link it to anything in particular that I'm eating either.

I feel your pain!

Probiotics might help repopulate good bacteria needed for digestion and slow down the transit time allowing for nutrient absorption, otherwise food sometimes just shoots through undigested.
