Hey Everyone!! Things have been better for me than they have all year. Finally Im getting somewhat regular and the pain has subsided. My GI has given me a diagnosis of "presumed crohns disease" but not 100% sure if thats what it is (I know thats what it is, I mean treatment is working). So I have to check in with them regularly regarding any changes at all. So Ive done just that. I was doing really good for 4-5 days, only going one time a day, feeling great with lotsa energy. Then....I had an episode...in the bathroom from 3am on and some mucus and lotsa D. Went on for hours until about 2pm when it finally slowed and stopped. So I called them just to make them aware. Hadnt heard anything. They call me today saying they need another colonoscopy, small bowel follow thru study, stood studies and IBD panel of blood work. OMG!! Really......why?? Why do I have to do all this crap all over again?? I new the colonoscopy would be redone....but the rest....again??? WHY??? WHY ME??? It killin me....I mean after my first colonoscopy I ended up back in the ER with super high fever and my inflamation was off the charts....so any sugessions??? Im so frustrated at this....my life seems like a constant roller coster....HELP!!:voodoo:

When I was in the hospital with an abscess (before my diagnosis) I had it all done. Several CT scans w/ contrast, stool samples, blood work, barium enema exam.

Crohn's is a tricky disease and I think it's common these days for doctors to do all sorts of tests to rule everything else out. I think it's good that your doc is wanting to do all these tests. Some people go years without knowing what's wrong with them. Also, you have the convenience of getting all these tests done outpatient rather than staying in the hospital, which is always no fun.

Just think, once you get all the tests done you should have a pretty conclusive diagnosis and can get started on long-term treatment :) It sounds like a lot, I know, but it's all about ruling everything else out.

Big hugs, Bev! I know it is frustrating! I went through a lot of tests, too. I agree with Marisa. Just try to keep in mind that the tests are helping get to the conclusive diagnosis. :)
