I am lactose intolerant, so I figured that drinking lactose free milk would fix that problem. I had originally been using Lactaid pills, but I found that I was still having trouble. Even with the lactose free milk, whenever I drink it my stomach starts to cramp within 10 minutes, and I always feel bloated and sick. I was tested just a few months ago for food allergies, and dairy was on the list, so I'm not allergic to dairy. Has anyone else ever had this problem? My family thinks I'm just crazy! :ybatty:

you may want to try Hemp milk or almond milk. Don't worry, those tests are not always accurate. I went to top hospital in Chicago years back, after going into anaphylaxic shock twice and ended up in er and the tests (back pricks, arm pricks, blood tests) all showed negative...except slight reaction to strawberries. REALLY? Is that why my throat closed, tongue swelled and heart/belly enlarged? Not. Anyway, you know your body better and if it reacts to something, stop taking it. The more you reduce the inflammation in your body, the better chance for healing to take place. I get the same reaction to milk...so that is why I changed to hemp milk. I am sensitive (lately) to nuts, so I avoid almond milk and thyroid issues eliminate the soy milk. So, hemp milk it is. Third day with it and enjoy it.

My daughter had the same problem for a few months. We tried a lot of different milks and brands but nothing helped she was in pain a few minutes after drinking it. Then one day the pain just went away... We never found out the cause of it.

You can have an intolerance to dairy - the proteins in it, not the lactose, without being allergic. It wouldn't show up on a test, but it would most definitly cause you issues. If if bothers you, maybe just stop eating/drinking it.

I'm 100% dairy free because it causes stomach pain and nausea, and its not worth it. I didn't replace it with anything, I just don't use milk or eat yogurt/cheese etc. My kids are also dairy free though (allergies to the protein) so I can't cook/bake with it anyway and we don't miss it.
