Itchy

So I always thought if my bum was itching its bc I didnt wipe well enough....well, Im guessing that this is normal with this disease.....I itch constantly, and its so imbarassing. Not only do I itch, but its ALWAYS moist. So my question is, is this normal. Should I be concerned about the constant moisture that comes from my rectum.....what is it?? Will it ever go away, and what can I do to make it less or even stop. Thanks guys~:blush:

Bev, I can sympathize but can't answer your question because it's on my list of things to ask my GI at our next appointment. It's driving me batty! The others here introduced me to Calmoseptine, which helps, but only for an hour or so. I've been using an antibiotic ointment for the, ahem, "worn" areas, too.

Have you tried using moist wipes when you go to the toilet? Only sometimes I itch from over wiping, as that can irritate your anus then it produces mucous to try to relieve the irritation.

I get this a lot too. The moist bum itching thing. Sometimes it feels like little bugs crawling around in there. The best thing to help me is a warm bath. I have also recently tried the highly endorsed, CF favorite, Calmoseptine and I was not at all disappointed. It's very soothing.

Are you using scented toilet paper? May sound silly but I find that stuff makes me itch so i always get the plain kind. Who cares what the paper smells like anyway? I'm sure my bum doesn't!
