I've run out of prednisolone will I be ok?

My gp can't add up lmao an I didn't question him just got the extra 50 pills he gave me and went on my way lol
Only this morning I realised I've got none left !! I should be on 10mg till Tuesday then 5mg till the following Tuesday then stop.
It's now the weekend lol so will I be ok to just stop at 10mg ? Or should I take the box to the chemist and see if they will help me?

You are probably borderline being ok from a safety perspective, but it isn't worth the risk. From a quality of life perspective, you will most certainly NOT be ok. That is a fairly big drop at the end of a taper. Normally the last 10mg are the hardest to taper even going 2.5mg at a time for some people. All 10 at once is asking for problems and a possible rebound flare. I would definitely goto the chemist/pharmasist and see if you can get 10mg for each day of the weekend. Being that prednisone isn't exactly an abusable drug and there are safety ramifications, they should oblige. If they don't then I would call your doctors office and speak to the on call doctor (I assume you have those over there...a doctor to answer patient's calls on the weekend to address these concerns?). If both of those fail, I would just walk into the ER or an urgent care, explain your situation, and ask for a small prescription to last you through these couple days. It isn't a major request and one of these steps ought to get you the prescription you need.

Good luck! Don't try to just weather the weekend, even if your health is ok...your sanity will surely be heavily tried!

I agree, you need to decrease some more and not just stop. Get an emergency script from ER or on call doctor its not worth the risk.

Hi Jen,
Have you tried to get an emergency supply from your pharmacy- probably the one where you get your regular scripts dispensed? Mine will always hand over a few days supply, if I'm running low or out. Good luck,

I went to boots an the pharmacist said it's fine to jump off from 10mg otherwise I'll have to pay for an emergency supply lol so I will carry on an if I'm rough by mon I'll phone the docs an get a script done lol trust it to happen to me on a weekend!!
