Reading,
Hey evreryone!
Hope you are all ok.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I have started a blog. It is not supposed to be completely focused in having Crohn's disease but it will come up a lot. I want it to be an honest account of someone living with the illness. I hope that is will raise awareness and knowledge to those who don't have it. And hopefuly bring comfort to those who do, to see someone else going through the same thing.
http://hollysbloggyness.blogspot.com/ Here is the link. It is called 'you wouldnt know joy if you didnt have pain'
I would be really greatful to anyone who wants to follow it!
Thanks :)

Ps having read your second post..... please don't hate doctors *too* much, many of them (us) do the very best for the patients and genuinely care about the patients feel.... dont let some bad experiences put you off all doctors..... MOST of the doctors I've met are genuinely very caring people......

^ yeah I know, I realise they probably have the hardest job in the world. But I have had many experiences that makes me lose my trust in them.
The one who I based that post on told me I needed an operation. Gave me a massive lecture on how If I didn't go things would get so much worse, did diagrammes and everything to explain things to me. And when I started crying because I was so overwelmed and scared she basically said I should expect this sort of thing having crohn's. Which I completely disagree with. You cant prepare yourself for everything!
The next day I went to the hospital to have the opperation and they said I didnt need one. Massive anti climax! I moved surgeries after that!
This is why I would like some more crohnies to start following, so that we can have little discussions and share experiences! :)

That doctor sounds very insensitive; and doctors like that DO exist, but they are the minority. Most docs I've worked with are lovely and really do care about their patients and have better ways of explaining things.

Try not to let bad experiences like that put you off! And remember Drs are human too - they will inevitably get things wrong sometimes and differ in their opinions about patient care.... what matters most is that they act in the patients best interest and are safe..... so ultimately as horrible as it was for you to have that anticlimax it was in your best interest as the doctor decided that surgery wasn't necessary so it meant that you didnt have to endure anaesthetic and recovery from surgery. :)

I'm very sorry you've had such negative experiences, and I truly hope you meet a dr who can restore your faith in the profession!

Yeah, I had this one once who was rly good. Understood that I knew about my illness and let me make desisions for myself. She has left now though.
I get on well with my GI at the moment too, she acts quite human!
Another reason I have this negativity is because my sister has struggled to get a diagnosis for years. She has vestibular problems and they have decided it is all psychological. They have basically given up on her. And because she gets so worked up when she is trying to explain things they just think she cant handle life and blame her mind!

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to bump this thread up as it has been a while since I last spoke about it and there are possibly a lot of new members who may be interested. I'm sorry if my blog seems negative, I try to make it as honest as possible on how I am feeling at the time. And often I think of blogging when I'm not feeling great. I will soon post a positive one!
