Jejunum Crohns

Crohns in the jenjunum is jenjunoileitis.

Jejunoileitis
This type is characterized by patchy areas of inflammation in the upper half of the small intestine (the jejunum). Symptoms include mild to intense abdominal pain and cramps following meals, as well as diarrhea. In severe cases or after prolonged periods, fistulas may form.

I thought you were on entocort. Do you also have inflammation in the ileum or colon? Entocort is used to treat from ileum down.

Entocort is used to treat mild to moderate Crohn's disease affecting the end of the small intestine (ileum) and/or the start of the large intestine (ascending colon).

The source is the patient pamphlet that comes with entocort.

The jenjunum is in the upper small bowel area.

But beyond pred to quell inflammation , imuran, 6mp, mtx, and the biologics are often used.

Up until this time, it has been in the small bowel and colon. Monday, I asked one of the assistants about where the Crohn's showed up she mentioned the jejunum. (I had an enterography last month.). She also mentioned something about a loop. I can't wait until the 24th of next month when I see the specialist. Maybe things will be clearer.

The jenjunum is in the small bowel. The small bowel is divided into 3 part the duodenum, jenjunum and then ileum, in that order.

So Crohn's located in the jenjunum is small bowel CD it's just that entocort releases in the ileum so it is effective from the ileum and part of the colon. Maybe you will get some more definitive answers at the appt.

I have jejunal crohns, as well as gastroduodenal and ileal - so upper GI crohn's. I have been on azathioprine, MXT, prednisolone and iv steroids and now humira. Despite now being on Humira every 10days I had a second upper GI perforation in the jejunum in october so I am now being considered for Entyvio/vedolizumab. I hope it works and gets my calprotectin down from 1650 which is what it was last week.
