I didn't see this anywhere, and for some reason I can't do a search right now....

SO - what jobs have you held (or currently hold) - thought it would be an interesting read!

Me -
Newspaper delivery (as a kid)
mowed lawns (again, as a kid)
auto parts delivery person - also worked the counter in sales
eviction notice server
salesperson - kitchen store
'pack out' person at large department store - actually worked for a vendor and put the merchandise out on the shelves.....
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Caretaker - live-in for a house/animals
house-sitter
Emergency Services dispatcher (Fire/EMS)
Police dispatcher
Fire Protection Specialist (current position) - specializing in fire prevention
antiques/collectibles dealer (current)
defensive driving instructor (current)

And the biggest non-paid one - volunteer firefighter (about 20 years)

hmm.....I'll add to this if I think of more jobs I've had!

oh yeah.....
I worked in a pizza restaurant (still moonlight on occasion) - while I was in high school...started as a diswasher, then moved up to cook/waitress.....

I think that covers all the paid positions! I have also been a Brownie young leader, worked in various schools, been a tour guide at uni, on a voluntary basis. I also used to be a 'guinea pig' letting uni students run experiments on me for a bit of extra cash. Not as scary as it might sound, mainly it would be things like watching a film and filling out a questionnaire after.

Oh, and I often had 2 or even 3 jobs on the go. I think my record was going to uni as a full time student, one job in my spare time in the week, one job at the weekends and another job in the school holidays.

Cashier/cart pusher at a wholesale store (pushing carts was so much better than dealing with the people who shopped there). I worked as a sales associate at Radioshack for a few weeks before they cut my hours because the manager wanted to give the job to his nephew.

-then went to uni and became a nurse, now work in NICU!Bit of a change!Remained in Dundee apart from last year where i nursed in NZ.

not much variety when i was growing up in a small scottish village reliant on tourist trade! until i moved to the big city! still miss the banter we used to have in the pubs though, good fun.

Thank-you for your Service, GIJoe. Because of our Military men and women in the military, I am able to enjoy the internet and every Freedom I enjoy.

This is a great thread to see.

I haven't exactly held any full time jobs yet as I've been studying when I'm well enough. I've done odd bits of casual work including running a micro business with a friend which has since closed down, but all of these are still somewhat current
  • Desktop Computer Sales/Support (end user builds/upgrades & repairs, plus a couple of school clients)
  • Server/Network Administration (web hosting mainly, but some small ISP grade stuff too)
  • Audio Engineering (mostly studio/onsite recording [solo 'cello up to orchestra & choir], but some small live stuff too)
  • Musician when needed, but rarely paid (only singing now, and increasingly more out of practice)
  • and hopefully some more in depth electrical/electronic engineering jobs to come when I finally finish my B Eng (Telecomms) :D

ah, what the heck...

As a kid I did a TON of volunteer work (my father is/was very active and involved in the local community, especially when we all used to go to church)
so I did a lot with parish activities; festivals, breakfasts, brunches, Lenten fish fries etc... I used to babysit kids when I was in middle school for PTA meetings and the like. My father used to manage a local nonprofit community theatre, so with that I was always hanging around gettingintoasmuch troubleashumanlypossible *ahem* :shifty-t: so I got to be an actor/performer every year when they turned the theatre into a haunted house, along with helping out backstage whenever I could.

With High School, I had to do more voluntary/community service hours (it was mandatory that every year we do 30-40 service hours) which involved everything from custodial work, landscaping, more line cook/prep work, and other various community outreach programs....

now that THAT'S out of the way, here's the official list.

-Another coffee shop that closed down soon after I got there (not my fault I swear!)
