Had an appointment with a specialist that actually listens to her patients back in November. Was told I needed blood work, and MRI and a colonoscopy. Fine. Whatever. Did the blood work. Did the MRI. And have been on a complete runaround for the colonoscopy. Was told in November that it would be in February. Was told again in December that it would be in February. Was told in January when I tried to make an appointment to see my specialist that she wouldn't see me until the tests were complete and told AGAIN it would be in February. Well now it's February and low and behold but my specialist is now on mat leave (I didn't even know she was pregnant) and the Dr that has taken over her patients is not booking any procedures. I'm sooo friggen frustrated!! I'm losing 2-3 pounds a day and when I went to see my GP she prescribed antibiotics and then told me that since I've been on so many antibiotics the last few months that I'm at a high risk for a c diff infection. Which she also said would be nearly impossible to treat. So now I have no specialist and a GP who only gave me antibiotics for 7 days in hopes that they would hold me over until my specialist would see me....except now there is no specialist. I'm not taking the antibiotics as a 7 day course won't do much for me anyway, and could cause a c diff issue. So now I'm basically in medical limbo. No specialist. No competent Dr. UGH!!

Not really. I can get another referal and wait 3-8 weeks to see a different specialist. At this rate there won't be much left of me to see in three weeks. Lol. I'm thinking my only option is to just wait until I'm sick enough to be admitted into hospital. At which point a specialist will be forced to deal with what's left of me. :(

Just make sure to really wash your hands a lot! And bleach your bathroom once a week. I dealt with a 4 month c diff infection and had a fecal transplant which finally cured me of it.. But wash wash wash. If you do that you shouldn't get cdiff. Even if you are susceptible to it.. Also take a probiotic. I take vsl3 every time I'm on an antibiotic now..

I'm not taking the antibiotics as they were prescribed for short term relief until I could see my specialist. Since I no longer have a specialist I'm not interested in risking a c diff infection for 7 days of relief.

What is A&E?

I'd go this route,
look online to see if there are any recommendations and feedback for local GI's. You do not always have to have/take your GP recommendation. Many times I have gone into my GP and said I want to be referred to a particular Dr. At times I have phoned the specialists office beforehand and asked if I could see that Dr, many times they reply, sure just get your GP to make a referral for you.

Sounds good to me.
