So my knees ache. Like really ache . To the point where they almost have me in tears some times. They keep me awake at night, i cant seem to sit for too long with out the pain. Ice doesnt seem to do it nor does heat.

I take tylenol for the pain but that doesnt seem to help either.

my fingers sometimes ache , and my wrists and elbows but its concentrated in my knees.

could this be crohns related? Or just something else????

Maybe you have something else going on like arthritis? As it's fairly common for Crohn's patients to get rheumatoid arthritis.

Other than that, could it be a medication side effect? Or a vitamin deficiency of some sort? (just throwing ideas out there!)

its probably the Crohns RA symptoms affect 20% of Crohns patients (Myself included) what medications are you on? when wazs the last time you had bloodwork?

I haven't started any treatment yet. We briefly discussed options with my GI but still waiting on test results. So I know its not drug related. Vitamin related not sure. I had blood work done few months ago and every thing was fine. Iron stores werre low but not low enough she said to worry. I am trying to eat foods with more iron.

I will look into the other options and get more onfo on them. This pain has gone from once in a while to almost daily. And its driving me nuts. :S

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I have ankylosing spondilitis it is a form of arthritis related to crohns I suffer terribly with joint pain go and see a rehumatologist

I second seeing a Rheumy. Mine recently put me on Humira to help with the Crohn's and arthritis. An x-ray will show if you have arthritis or not and blood work (there are 2 different blood tests) will show if you have RA or not. So far I have osteoarthritis, waiting on the blood work for the RA test results (even if I have it though they'd just put me on Humira which I've already started).

Being low can still give you symptoms of a deficiency so you may want to supplement the iron along with more iron rich foods and retest to see if its helping (after at least a month).
