I have hurt for the last 3 years and just recently decided that it was not normal so i went to the doctor and after many tests they diagnosed me with Crohns disease. the tried to start me on endecourt but i could not afford it so they put me on 40mg of prednisone and two 500mg Pentasa three times a day. I usually have 3 or 4 good days and then 2 bad days and i am getting really tired of hurting like this. so there it is my story if anyone has any suggestions i am open to them.

Really sorry your still hurting and suffering. I really hope you find some good information here and hopefully some relief in the near future.

Best of luck and welcome to the forums.

Greetings and welcome Lacie. I'm sorry you're having to go through this but at least you finally know what is causing your pain. How long have you been on the prednisone?

You may also want to check out our diet and fitness forum and see if anything there might be of benefit to you.

I wish you all the best!

Hi Lacie and welcome to the forum! I can understand and feel for what you've been through. I suffered many years with digestive pains and upsets before I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. This is a terrific place to make friends and to receive information about Crohn's. The members here are caring and supportive; feel free to ask questions and post your concerns.

Welcome Lacie! Pred and Pentasa/Asacal are often the first meds used to knock crohns back. It usually works! Has your GI mentioned a stronger maintenance med after your pred taper? I hope the pred gets you into remission soon!! Good luck!

Hi Lacie and welcome! I am sorry you haven't been feeling well. I agree with Mark, perhaps it is time to try a stronger medication. If Pentasa hasn't done the trick in 3 years, I think it is safe to say it is time to move on. I sure hope you can come up with a new treatment plan that works soon!
