Lack of taste buds...

A query - anyone elses kids have little or poor taste? I think he is low on zinc and will get this checked in bloods next week. In face he is eating so little he is probably deficient in everything except Vit D and iron as he takes supplements for those!

Just wondering ...yet again about what is going on

Wasn't ever something Stephen mentioned...

I know it's talked about alot on the forum but, if he's not drinking supplemental shakes, might be worth looking into... makes it a bit easier to know they are getting, at least, some of their nutrition. :ghug:

My son is a very picky eater. I often wondered if it was lack of taste or just too sensitive to tastes. I think it was mostly from lack of appetite. Now that his treatment is going well, he's a much better eater.

At his instigation he is going back on his shakes diet from tomorrow so that may begin to help...

Sending lots of support positivemum, we're in the same boat. Sending shakes to school with Jack tomorrow. He has lost a pound a week for the last 4 weeks and just won't eat. 1/2 a cereal bar this morning :angry-banghead:

I sent shakes with Stephen to school too... hate to think what he's eating! :yfaint: Sent him homemade meatballs, homemade lasagna, a crate of shakes, two packs of Boost Resource for variety and tomato sauce... told me today 'haven't had time to cook but I drank a shake'! "a" shake, one? in a week?!?!? I was hoping for 1, 2, even 3 a day! :lol: I was afraid to ask what he HAS been eating.

We had to take a week or two holiday from the periactin to re-trigger the increase in appetite.
