Hi Everybody,
As of yesterday I was prescribed Lanvis [Thioguanine] 20 mg daily for CD. This is another cytotoxic drug used for the treatment of leukaemia. Searching the Internet I can't find any mention of this drug in relation to Crohn's!

Somehow, I get the impression that I am being used as a guinea pig! Has anyone any experience of taking this substance?
Regards,
Merv

I have never heard of it being used for Crohn's. I was looking on FDA's website and it isn't approved for Crohn's here in the states, but that doesn't it is not being used for that. When they first starting using Mercaptopurine for Crohn's it wasn't FDA approved either.

Lanvis

Discontinued taking Lanvis 20 mg daily. Apart from feeling generally unwell-nausea ++, usual tiredness and lethargy I developed a rash on both forearms. Absolutely no change to bowel movements, if anything worsened! Leave this medication alone!{ In total I took only 14 days supply}.
