LDN and pregnancy

I am currently taking Cimzia and LDN (for about 1 yr now). My symptoms are finally under control and we are considering TTC in the next few months. My GI says that both meds are okay during pregnancy, but she is very aggressive with treatment. High risk ob is a little skeptical about LDN, but okay with Cimzia. I can find some research for LDN for maintaining pregnancies in infertility.

I also will be giving myself Lovenox daily throughout the entire pregnancy since I have a blood clotting disorder and hx of DVT. Since I have Mastocytic enterocolitis, I have been told I should continue Zyrtec, Zantac, and Singulair (all cat B for pregnancy).

I am a clinical pharmacist, but I work in mental health, so I never really deal with these medications. I am wondering has anyone taken LDN during pregnancy? Or a biologic/TNF during the entire pregnancy? Anyone who had to take Lovenox?

Thanks in advance for any advice or information!!!

One of the few things I have never been is pregnant. In most cases where folks have a question about drug choices to treat IBD, I point out that LDN, by very nature of being such a low dosage, is probably the 'safest' choice a person can make. However, when one is talking a developing fetus, I wouldn't jump to the same conclusion. I personally think for this one, you really need to reach out and touch base with the LDN experts. Like Dr Jill Smith. Or any of her peer group involved in pushing forward the case for LDN. I believe there are some folks on here who have her contact info. If not, try Googling it.

Now, what the best/optimum choice of meds is... well, I don't know if any of us laymen could help you. But, the choice of whether to become pregnant... I think there are some folks who have faced that choice, made the call, and could relate their stories to you... maybe here on the open Forum, or behind the scenes via private messages. The reason I say that... is that IBD (Crohns, UC, whatever) seems to thrive on emotional or hormonal changes... and I suspect that your situation may change dramatically when you are pregnant. I'm not offering advice pro or con.. that is strictly your call to make. But I think you should talk to others who have gone that route, listen to their stories.

All the best...
