I'm on 100 MG Imuran, 1500 MG Flagyl, and I am down to 10 MG Prednisone. I've been on them for a month yesterday. Starting Thursday my knees started hurting. Well today not only do my knees hurt everything from my knees down hurts. My legs feel like they are on fire when I'm standing and it hurts to walk. This morning I almost couldn't make it down the stairs. I had to hold on to the hand rail with both hands and walk down sideways one step at a time. My knees and ankles hurt so bad! I have read that people can have joint pain with imuran. If this is what is causing it I will have to stop because this is debilitating. I can hardly walk, sit or stand. As long as my legs are not moving and in a certain position I seem to be fine. Move or walk or stand OMG! I will try to call my doctor on Monday but I don't even want to do this for another day. Thanks for listening and have a great night.

I hope you feel better and have something that might be able to help you till monday when you call your doctor.

I know exactly what the pain is like -- and it's excruciating.

I was told for years it was Sciatica and was told to take over-the-counter muscle relaxants and ibuprofen.

Turns out I have Ankylosing Spondylitis, an auto-immune disease that flares up from time to time.

Hang in there and I hope you get some relief soon.

Sorry to hear of your pain Derrick!!!! :( I have no knowledge of that side of things apart from rather stiff butt muscles and a tight neck, but it sounds dreadful - hope you can get it sorted ASAP!

Sleep wasn't fun - morning wasn't fun. Didn't hurt for most of the day but now they are starting to hurt again. It's weird.

I had leg pain and most the of the purplish and swollen part was in both feet! It hurt to stand too! No doctor could even guess but one though Thrombosis, the pain started not long after my surgery. So they ended up putting a needle in my stomach 2 times a day, morning and night. I only lived like a mile down the road so I went in my housecoat and slippers. Not sure what it was from, but I never want that to happen again. IT is said sometimes Antibiotics, flagyl and cipro cause it but I had ankle discomfort from the Cipro and a buzzing feeling in my legs from the flagyl. Sorry I am not much help. I never really knew what caused it, either the after affects of a terrible 2nd resection or all the crappy meds I was on..

Yeah - I got tendinitis from Cipro so I can't take it anymore. I am going to call in the morning to see what might be going on.

Let us know Derrick how things go....You know you are my favorite child and I don't want anything to be wrong with you.....XO Momma Brady.

I was on Levaquin, it messed with my tendons something fierce too!

Hey Derrick, I hope you are able to have some relief today and that your doc knows a quick solution to this one! So sorry you are in so much pain.

I called my doctor yesterday and left a message - they said they would return my call within 24 hours. They didn't call back. They are now closed. I guess I'll call again tomorrow. Now I have a hard lump about the size of nickel right below my calf muscle that looks bruised - that is freaking me out.

Derrick, it could be anything. You should go to an urgent care to get it checked. What if you have a blood clot?

That doesnt sound good, could be a clot like IMP said...if it moves you could be in more pain and worse. Something you cant fool around with, I would head to emergency. Your choice.

They said it was an extraintestinal manifestation of crohn's. I still think it's the meds but I'm no doctor!

Phone only. They told me to up my dose of prednisone and just come to my appointment at the end of next month.

The lump is almost gone today and the bruise is lighter.

I think it is strange that I would be having an extraintestinal manifestation of Crohn's when I don't even seem to be having an intestinal manifestation.

As long as it isnt moving and improving that is good news. Hard to dx over the phone don't ya think?

I would think so but they didn't seem to have a problem with it :ybatty:

WTH Derrick? What did they say about the leg pain - is that what they were calling the EIM or the lump or both? How are you feeling?

All of it. Hey on an up note I found out today if I walk backwards down the stairs in the morning it doesn't hurt as much! They haven't hurt at all today after about 7am or so.

That is great, but something isnt right, no one should go backwards down the stairs. When is your next GI or Doc appt?

Mid January. They didn't hurt at all today. Yesterday I also went back to the full dose of pred - I was tapering off. HMMM

Pred - why does something sooo good have to be sooooo bad??? It has almost cleared up this rash I've been dealing with for 6 months now. Not looking forward to coming off of it.

I hear you Peaches! I've always had exzema (sp?) and rashes and itchy skin and allergies and the pred takes care of all of that! I've noticed it all coming back on the lower doses.
