Before my Crohnת I was a very active
Morning to night, school, work, parties
And of course - fitness exercises - running, dancing, light athletic
even when training for hour n half and I wasn't tired at all

Today - two years with Crohn's
Barely three times in a half hour practice- basic exercise in the park - stretching and crunches

so did it happen to you?
Reduction in physical activities due to Crohn?

I did not happen to me though there are times I think when I am unusually tired it might be due to crohns. My crohn's may not be as severe as yours however nor did I ever exercise as much as you did previously.
Good luck
Whit
P.S.-It may be the drugs you are on that are making you tired.

It happened to me too. Partially because exercise seems to lead to pain and partially because I am so tired all the time. I am hoping to get into remission and it will hopefully be better then.

Definitely. There is just no energy to do anything when I flare. There was one point where walking even a block to the bus stop to get to work was terribly exhausting.

This disease really knows how to break your body down, but you have to allow your body the rest it needs in order to get well. When you are resting and sleeping, your body is taking as much of your energy as it can and channeling it towards fighting the illness. Medication can also be a factor but illness and inflammation itself triggers the body to conserve as much energy as possible and use it towards fighting the foreign invaders which leaves you less energy to get around and go about your day.

Once I started feeling better I had to gradually re-introduce myself to activities because they would exhaust me very easily. But it is possible, I'm doing much better now and am even starting a fitness plan to get in better shape again.

Hoping you start feeling better soon!

I used to do martial arts but had to give up. It became so difficult and i was so tired after. I still try to go to the gym when I'm having a good day (haven't been in 3 weeks). Fingers crossed things will get better soon.

Yes since I have been having IBD symptoms I have been far less active. I used to work out everyday, go to parties. Now my joints are extremely sore and I do not have any energy for those things anymore :(

Yes, me too. I used to do Yoga, swim, walk. I'm so tired on all the time, even vacuuming one room wears me out. I'm trying to do a little Yoga each day, just depends on how I feel. Most of the time, I just lay on the couch. I'm going to get better once the GI can figure out all the issues I'm currently experiencing and I can't wait to become active again.

I used to workout seven plus hours a week but struggle to do 30mins light exercise every other day at the moment. I think the important thing is doing as much as you feel able to. Your body knows what it is and isn't capable of.
