Have any of you tired this for the diarrhea associated with crohn's??

How did it make you feel??

My family doctor prescribed it t ome and just curious before I try it.

Thanks

I take it when I get bad d, although I have to take many pills like 8 to 10 it works for me for a bit I like it bc it comes in handy in public places so I have time to go to the bathroom instead of pooing myself!

Before remicade I was going 30 or more. Now on a bad day its below 15 a good day is below 7

Wow. That's a lot of bathroom trips. o_O

Anyhoo I take Lomotil for diarrhea and it seems to work pretty well. Sometimes I only need to take one and it works for the whole day but there are some days where I check to see if its been 4 hours yet before I pop another. I've never had to take more than 3 a day though. You take it as needed and its basically a stronger version of Imodium. For some people it makes them constipated if they take it a lot but I've yet to experience that. I haven't had any side effects from it and I've been taking it for almost a year now. I recommend it for people who deal with diarrhea frequently but in cases like xoxava's I'd prefer to control the root cause because 7 times a day is still pretty frequent.

Yeah its alot! But still better then 30! I can finally sleep in bed now without having blanket and pillow in the bathroom. Idk what's "normal" N idk if crohnies experience normal..maybe in remission? I've gotten used to living in the bathroom so I forgot what normal is!

I imagine that remission is different for everyone. With remission you still have bad days but that doesn't mean you're in a flare. There are times where I only go once a day or every other day but the diarrhea happens far more often. Even slight inflammation that isn't considered a flare can cause you to have diarrhea no matter what you eat. I guess normal for me is 1-3 times per day and I'm in remission.
