Hi guys

Have recently been diagnosed with Crohns and have been advised on here about following a liquid diet and/or a low residue diet.

Please can someone tell me what is involved in each of the above.

Also, what do you guys generally eat for breakfast? I can't stomach bread, fruit or dairy at the moment...

Thanks
Becs

HI Beccamon, A low Residue diet consists of chicken broths, beef broths, veg broths, nothing with fibre, but for breakfast you could try to eat a bowl of honey nut cheerios without the milk and a cup of tea. or a tea biscuit. and basically space out your meals during the day. you can drink gatorade to keep youself hydrated and it tastes good. you can eat puddings if they don't effect you and jello pudding, jello's, say make a bowl of jello and just keep it the refrigerator for snacks throughout the day and night. White rice, applesauces, or other sauces, like peach and others like that. These are just some suggestions. Others will come along and may suggest some more. best wishes.

Hi Scott
I am following your advice! Have had tea biscuits for brekkie and just had plain tuna for my lunch. Will be stokcing up on broth and jello to have from tomorrow also.
Fingers crossed!!
Beccamon

You can try non dairy milks, like soy, rice or almond milk. You may be able to tolerate them better than cows milk.

They have meal replacement drinks, like Ensure that are lactose free, if you are in a pinch.
