Soo, I've been making "bloody messes" on an off for the last couple weeks. Every time i think it's gone *poof* there's my mess evilly grinning back at me... Got me a little bummed out. I pretty much lost last summer due to Crohns and surgery and now with this i don't know whats to come. At least theirs no pain ... i guess that's good.... *sigh*

:depressed:

Hi Shawne,
sorry your not doing to well..
I get where your coming from, I'm getting one of those 'here we go again' things happening......kind of getting sick of the whole living on a rollercoaster freak show thing! :)
Have you been to see your Dr yet?
Hang in there,
hope thing improve for you soon!

Hey Shawn...
Yeah... that does suck. Is the blood bright red or dark? Definitely check it out with your doc to see where the blood is coming from, and go from there... You're right, at least there is no pain so it probably wouldn't be a fissure. If it's from inflammation inside, you might need a round of steroids to get in under control before things get worse. Either way, I hope you find relief soon and keep looking on the bright side...

Hi Shawn,
Sorry to hear about that. See your doc quickly. I used to think no pain was good too, but for me it just let me ignore my symptoms for too long, letting the inflamation fester over many years. Not a good thing.

Good luck to you - hope it turns out to be a minor issue!
-Joe

I already had an appointment scheduled for today actually so hopefully i'll know more by the end of the day. Most of it has been bright red. I have had some pain "back there", but i have a high pain thresh hold (which is bad) so i never really thought much about it.

It's a good idea to see the doc
I've had instances where I've passed bright red blood for a number of days... also with no pain, but it was a bit alarming at the time. In my case it was stopped by a week of using a steroid based foam enema

My doc didn't seem overly concerned with it and thinks slowing things down a bit with something like immodium may give it time to close up. I'm happy with my GI, but sometimes I wonder if the only difference between us and them is they're allowed to write prescriptions.

So anyway, i guess i'm going to pop some immodium for a bit to slow things down and see what happens .. Whats odd is i can go several days with no problems and then out of the blue *poop* there it is.

Hi Shawn - sorry to hear about your, ahem, "messes". Crohn's is crazy - last summer when I started flaring I had a few days where I had D with blood followed literally three minutes later by a normal BM. How does this happen??? Anyway, I hope things get better for you really soon.

That is pretty much exactly whats going on with me ... One minute your freak'n out, the next, business as usual .. Maybe that is "normal" and why my doc wasn't to concerned.. what a trip.

I dunno ... blood always seemed kinda important to me, but wad'do i know .. i'm just a crohnie.. 8P

Yea, I went to my GI yesterday because I am flaring right now and my main symptoms are blood and weight loss. I take asacol and he put me on entocort and I have been on entocort for about a month now. He asked me how I felt and I said physically I don't feel too bad, but I still have the bleeding and he said don't worry about the bleeding. So I am just like OK! I guess he thinks it is not a big deal, he said women bleeed every month, I said yea, but there supposed to. It's like what I think is a big deal he doesn't. So I don't know, I guess I just deal with the blood and wait until it clears up again.

OMG!

What a tosser for saying that women bleed every month!
What's that got to do with you? and your problem, hey?
He had no right to make that comparison, the prick

Yea, I was kinda pissed off when I left the doctors. I just wanna say well lets switch bodies and see how you deal with it.

I'm thinking your doctor could probably benefit from a few more years of medical schooling if he thinks there is a comparison between a woman's menstrual cycle and rectal bleeding due to Crohn's disease.

Yea I don't think he is the most compasionate. Sometimes I think he tries to make me feel like it's my fault I am flaring. He asked if I was taking my asacol as prescribed and I said yes I am taking my 6 pills a day. I take 2 in the morning, 2 in the afternoon, and 2 at night and he said I am sure you are missing your afternoon ones. I said I never miss taking my medication, I would never do it on purpose even if I am feeling good. Maybe he was having a bad day and taking it out on me. I don't know...

Hi Kirkland

Try not to worry, it's not your fault you're flaring if you're taking your meds properly, it's his fault for not listening to you, not understanding, and not doing anything to help you! And I don't give a flying F*** if he was having a bad day!
ooooo feel better for that!
I had this a few months ago when a locum told me that it was my fault that I had Crohns because I smoke and that I would die from bowel cancer! yada yada

take care
