Ok, I just Google 'myositis' to see if that is a wry smile at the end of your post or not  The page that came up said it is normally treated with steroids: are you still on the Pred? If they have to drain the abscess, does it mean surgery again?

It was a happy smile!
I am still on Pred, and it has been increased. I think it will just be a matter of letting it settle over time if myositis. Being an orthopod if it doesn't involve a knife then they don't know what to do.It will just mean longer on the old crutches. If an abscess that would need surgery- exploration and drainage but he really thinks this unlikely... And I have to say I agree.
He has referred me for physio- will take 2-3 weeks for appt by which time I should be healed a bit more so ok for physio .

My gp rang today and made an appt for tomorrow to discuss what next- I will need referral to lymphoedema service as my leg is quite swollen due to the surgeries, physio and I need to discuss work- when to go back- how long do you need off after this. I was just at the end of my phased return due to crohns !
They are uneasy about me returning if my White count keeps being low... Which it is again. I think that they are being over protective! They feel I am putting myself at too much risk.

This isnt like me at all, but listen to the 'specialists' about returning to work and getting this sorted.

As a test...if you can boot kick them into the next room with your bad leg, you might be ready to return to work. Right up the kister!! :ylol:

Until that time, sadly, you may have to behave a bit. I really hope no more surgery for you!!!!
