I'm afraid that I've been gone for quite awhile. Reason being that my UC had been going pretty much well & life has been a bit crazy lately anyway. But, recently my IBD has been acting up & I've been poking around again. Come to find out, my Colonoscopy in 2023 confirmed that I was inflamed & my Sulfasalazine wasn't doing the job for me anymore.

As a normal patient, I didn't like the news & got a second opinion closer to home. The new GI did a couple of tests on me and confirmed the same news as far as my medication wasn't reaching where it needed to go. So, now I'm waiting to get onto Skyrizi & am in the waiting game till I change meds. It's a huge change for me going from pills to infusions though. I guess we'll see what happens.

Just wanted to say hi again & let you know what's happening. Hope this finds you doing well for the most part...

Since it'd been 2 weeks since I'd talked to the doctors about getting onto Skyrizi, I emailed my GI last Thursday afternoon. Finally got a response from the infusion department yesterday. Told me that they were still waiting for insurance and that it may be up to 15 more days until it's figured out for my first Skyrizi intake.

However, even if we finally do get it figured out at that time I won't be available yet. Reason being that I'll be on vacation with my Husband and will have to wait a little longer. So, we'll see...

Helllooo! Welcome back & sorry that things are tough right now. I hope that things are sorted to start Skyrizi for me.

Skyrizi started to work for me last summer, then failed, but at that point my Crohn’s was pretty out of control, likely beyond what one medication could handle. Since having surgery, Skyrizi seems to be doing a fine job again.

Jo-mom, insurance finally approved it!!! Between insurance and Skyrizi I didn't pay anything for my first infusion May 9th and just had my second one yesterday June 6th!!!
I was off on vacation for majority of the time after my first infusion, which ended up being very helpful!!!! Since I've been on the new medication, there has been no pain and occasional accidents. Beforehand, I was in pain quite often almost every day and multiple accidents a day! So, no matter what this new drug has done wonders for me!!!
Thanks for your concern! Hope all is well with you guys too! Lots of hugs!!!!
