Looking for advice- Remicade while traveling

Hello all,

I am looking for some guidance, advice, references, stories, anything really!

I am 22 years old diagnosed with RA. I am currently taking the infusion Remicade every 8 weeks.

In January I am hoping to leave the US to travel through Australia for a year.

Does anyone have any idea how I can continue getting this infusion? Where to go? What insurance I should be looking at?

I feel so lost and overwhelmed I don't even know where to start.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hmm, that's a good question. I'm going to suggest that you also post a thread about it in our Remicade forum.

However, I think your best bet would be to contact your insurance company and see what they have to say.

At your next infusion appointment ask your doctor abou it, they might be able to set you up with some scheduled infusions at partnered hospitals or something of that nature. As David suggests i'd also discuss it with your insurance company who will perhaps be able to offer you additional Crohns related cover throughout your travels.
