Mesalamine and diet keeps me in remission. I will continue trying to achieve remission through diet changes (I believe a fix is out there for me) . I am vegetarian with the exception of fish.
I have been labelled noncompliant by gastroenterologists lately because I refuse to submit to "checkup colonoscopies" during states of remission.
I don't think I will be able to obtain mesalamine in the future, because of doctors reluctance to "keep" patients who are noncompliant.
So I am thinking about acting now so that I am not caught in a bad situation once I am cut off. This would involve me moving to a medical marijuana state, where I hope that I might find similar anti-inflammatory properties in cannabis.
I am not tied to the state I am in now. Marijuana is not legal here, though. I was hoping to find examples of UC people who maybe were on mesal drugs (pentasa, asacol, lialda, etc) who maybe switched to Marijuana , CBD, THC, etc...
My symptoms when my condition is unchecked are bleeding, increased bowel movements, and fatigue. Diet and mesalamine stop them. I am hoping that diet and medical marijuana could also stop them as efficiently.
