Hi,
Forgive me if this topic has been covered in other threads but I've been looking around and haven't found to many details.
My situation is this: I am a Canadian, on remicade for 10+years, that would really like to live and work in another country. I am trying to determine which countries are actually realistic is terms of getting my remicade covered (or at least the vast majority of it!). I have been reaching out to some international insurance companies but have not gotten much back. I also want to look under the assumption that I wont get insurance through work. Im looking for anyone with experience as an expat with a working visa and receiving remicade- what your experience was, did you find any good health plans, what your costing was and any general tips/tricks. I keep reading about countries that offer really good insurance to there residents (like Canada) but I assume those are not available to temporary residents. Thanks for any help or advice you can provide.

hey pbrewy,

I dont have any answers for you now, but I am currently in a situation very similar to you.

Next month I am going to South Korea to work for 6 months as an English teacher. My insurance companies (MHP, Desjardin) have allowed me to take all 6 months worth of infusions with me on the plane (6 infusions) in a cooler box. My problem is finding an IV clinic in SK that will administer the infusion for me. I have phoned some international hospitals in SK but the costs are crazy high, like 2,500 USD for each infusion, even when I provide the Remicade.

I am still looking for information, and if I find anything I will let you know, because there is not much information out there to help us out. oh, and I am also from Canada.
