Loose stool after finishing Zpack

It's me again! DD finished Zpack two days ago and sinus infection is gone but she has been having loose, frequent bowel movements. I know the Zpack stays in your system for a few days after stopping and we did mention the loose stool to her GI at her appointment a few days ago and she didn't seem concerned. I'm just wondering if any of you have given Zpack and how long it may take for her bowel movements to return to "normal". Thanks!

Have they tested for CDiff?? It's a possibility after being on abx.

That said, my daughter also had diarrhea during a Z-pack and she did not have CDiff (we tested for it). I think it lasted a couple days after she was done. If the diarrhea does not stop soon, I'd ask for a CDiff test.

She doesn't have any watery stools so I don't think they'd be able to do a test for CDiff. I could be thinking of a different test but I'll ask her GI tomorrow. Thanks!

My daughter also had diarrhea while taking a Z-pack. Fortunately, it wasn't cdiff, and the diarrhea went away after she started taking probiotics.

S has never taken the Z pack, but I have had mild diarrhea every time I take it! Diarrhea is supposed to be a common side effect of azithromycin, so they say.
