Lots of "D" during this flare

Hey everyone, I have been having a big flare, its been going on for about 3 weeks now. I am taking 30mg of prednisone, entocort, flagyl, cipro and during the first week of the flare I received a Remicade infusion. I have had stomach pain, D, bad headaches and nasuea since the remicade. Nothing seems to want to stop my "D", oh and I am taking lomotil 3 times aday also. Anyone else ever have it this long? Its so bad I have been off work. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Glenn and welcome. I am sorry you're suffering so much right now. But I don't have any advice other than to contact your GI. However, other forum members may have more insight.

I probably sound like a broken record here, because I have posted about this a few times already. The only drug that helped my D before my surgery was low dose codeine. I would take 30mg 5 times a day.

As the name implies, it's a low enough dose that there are no narcotic side effects. But, it sure helped my diarrhea. Very old school treatment - ask your doc.

Agree absolutely with the codeine phosphate, the only thing that stops my D in it's tracks.
It's quite addictive tho, so beware, and it makes you drowsy.
