Lots of fatigue

So I'm not concerned or anything, more curious, but I just started treatment a few days ago and today I feel extremely fatigued. I had a minor surgery on an abscess so they gave me percocet which i took the first few days. I know that of course made me drowsy and kind of loopy. However, I wanted to be out and about today driving so I purposely didn't take any pain meds so i wouldn't be drowsy. I didn't take any pain meds for 24 hours now, yet I keep zoning out in the middle of talking with people and am finding it extremely hard to keep my eyes open. I should probably just give in and sleep but I want to know if it's possible for the percocet to affect me for this long or is it possibly a side effect of Imuran or prednisone? Again, not concerned or anything, just curious if anyone else gets like this as I have never felt this way before.

Hey Lookitsjen, I don't know what Percocet is as we don't have it in OZ. But I'm pretty sure it will be out your system (with exception of the slow release formulas) most pain meds only last about 4-6hrs. Anyway, I was in a similar situation last week I was using pain pills while I was flaring. I ran out them and couldn't be bothered getting more off my doctor, they weren't really helping much either so I just switched back to panadol and the next few days I was so tired and felt extra crappy and couldn't figure out why as it was different than normal fatigue.

I'm hypothesizing It could be a minor withdrawal action at worst if you stopped taking them abruptly. That's what happened to me, try not to stress though it should fix itself in the next day or two. When it happened to me a couple of days later when my Prednisolone had kicked in and stuff the pain and tiredness all faded away which was a welcoming feeling. Since then I have learnt to always taper off pain pills too if I'm on them. Same as the Prednisolone too if you come off that fast it will make you feel like ****. Hang in there and don't worry too much. Good luck and feel better :) Tim

Thanks Tim. Yeah I'm not really worried, just curious as I have never felt this way before. It's like my body wants to move but my mind and eyes are sooo tired. Oh well, I see my doctor Friday so I'll mention it then. Thanks again!

Could be due to the surgical procedure, no matter how minor, it may take your body a little while to get back to normal. I have noticed after my surgeries that I didn't wake up as refreshed as usual, so I must have been tossing around more at night or while asleep.
