So , after being told my bloods were ok I got a call to say my White blood count was low. Ive been told to reduce my Azathioprine and get bloods re done in a month.

I havent been feeling great for last couple of weeks, im bruising easily, fatigue and generally feeling drained. Is there anything I should be concerned about?

I don't know the answer but there will hopefully be someone along who can help. Wish you the best.

That's fairly normal with Aza. I'm on Aza and Humira and have white blood counts in the low range of normal. It's a matter of getting the dosage right. That's one of the reasons why you have frequent blood work when on Aza.

I'm on Aza and Remicade. I've had to reduce the dosage to 50 mg because my body can't tolerate a higher dose. After a year, my blood work is finally becoming more normal. White blood cells help to fight off infections, so be extra careful. I've had too many colds this year.

thanks everybody, finally got the dr to give me level and they advised 3.6? So im not going to worry, no point. My Aza has now been reduced to 175mg per day and they hope when I get bloods done tomorrow it will have sorted out the levels. TBH Im thinking I might just come off it and see how I go ..

I wish you the best but I would consult with your doctor for coming off not the meds.

I would not go off your meds without consulting your doctor. If you insist on going off of Imuran, be sure to see if there's another treatment option. You don't want this disease to fester.
