Hi there just thought I come on and give a little update on Lucy and hopefully get some insight from those of you who may have been through this before.
So lucy has been doing quite well the last couple of months on 20mg of 6 mp and on and off flagyll, her anal fissures had cleared up and no more pain - happy days. However when she comes of the flagyll a couple of weeks later symptoms start to return... roll on to yesterday we had our scheduled GI appointment (she has started another round of flagyll last week). She has a huge fissure again all red and sore so the plan is increase the 6 mp to 30mg (so back for weekly bloods for the next few again) and do 3 week rotations on flagyll for the next 4 months and see does that hold her. I am gutted , I really thought she was in remission. Also had the remicade conversation again as GI doesn't feel the current regime will hold her long term but wants to hold off on remicade as long as he can as myself and my husband do if we are honest, but we have made the decision if that we are advised by our GI to go with it we will.
Anyway just a big moan about this horrid disease that is chrons and I suppose today I feel it is so unfair that my beautiful little girl is afflicted with it.

Anyway roll on saturday - Lucy will be 4 which I never thought she'd get to before she was diagnosed because she was so ill .. so big party planned for her and all her little friends ............ just hope this horrendous Irish weather improves - it is supposed to be summer and it is lashing rain and gale force winds.. oh Irish summers you got to love them.

:bdayparty:

I hope she has a great Saturday!
I'm sorry to hear about the continuing problems.
I hope all gets fixed very soon.
Ireland weather and Michigan, US weather sounds about the same.:yfaint:

Aww, I'm so sorry that Lucy is still having problems :( So disappointing...

I hope that the increase in meds will quickly bring her relief and keep it all under control!

And, sending lots of wishes for a very happy birthday!!! :bdayparty:

Sorry to hear Lucy is having to increase her meds again! No advice here, sorry as it is not something we have really dealt with. Just wanted to wish you and her the best and hope the meds work well asap.
Happy Birthday to her too :thumleft:

Happy Birthday to her! I hope things clear up with the new regimen quick. Hope she has a nice birthday. my little one turned four last week.

Sweet girl! I'm sure a birthday and celebration will be a much needed mental break from the reality and worry of IBD. Hope she starts feeling better soon, you're in my thoughts!

Sorry to hear about Lucy not doing as well. It's so frustrating that their good periods don't last longer! My son Alex has similar issues with fistulas and 6mp never put him over the edge. Remicade can really help close them up and prevent them. He was terrific on Remicade, the best I'd seen him in years, while it lasted. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the update hun but so very sorry to hear that your dreams have been shattered. I hope more than anything tweaking the meds will bring your little princess remission and relief, bless her cotton socks...

and... A GREAT BIG HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY for tomorrow!
