Maintenance meds or no meds

maintenance meds or no meds

I've recently met some people with crohn's disease and there are some who say when they feel better they take no meds and others that say they always take something in attempts to stay in remission. I was just wondering what everyones thought on that was here.

i am in remission and i am going to continue taking my meds until my doctor says otherwise or the meds don't work anymore. some people may feel otherwise, but i just don't want to risk sliding back into a bad flare up.

All my docs have always said the worst thing a patient can do is stop taking the meds when they feel good. Especially things like Pred or Imuran that either need to be tapered or take time to build up in the system.
