I'm slowing starting to feel more concerned. In this last month or so, it appears that I have dropped 2 or 3 waist sizes...I'm not sure what that would be in pounds specifically because that is something that can vary for me from day to day. But still overall, definitely have been shrinking. The only pair of "tight" jeans I owned are very loose. I can feel my ribs a lot more, too.

I think it's of worry because a couple of my daily medications make me GAIN weight (especially the synthroid). Something else must be going wrong. I can only imagine how much worse this loss would be if I didn't have the weight-gaining side effects.

What do you guys think can be causing this?? you all know my recent medical history...

It's hard to translate that to "pounds" since your waist shrinking simply indicates a smaller waist, but it IS a "clue" that you're losing weight. A clue like this can indicate something, but not guarantee it. Chances are you've lost a good bit, because that's a substantial drop for a month, and (this is a biological comment) you're a female and not lifting weights as far as I know (men can gain "weight" yet drop in waist size).

Does synthroid, in your case, have the side effect of a slower metabolism, or a higher appetite, or both? From the little I read on it (because I took it for suppression of my thyroid, nothing more), it depends on the level of synthroid you take to determine the sides, and if you're at the correct level that would replicate the natural level normally expected by secretion.

Well lets just say...the waist is not the only area that has shrunk :p.

I haven't done anymore exercise..i mean i walk everyday, but i've been doing that for the last 3 years.

My thyroids are 'normal' and have been for at least a few months now, so maybe my metabolism (which used to be very high) has restored itself?? Either that, or one of my diseases is back in a constant flare....
