Just got back from another GI appointment and have been put on 40mg of Pred and am absolutely terrified of the side effects, was on it earlier in the year and didn't have a good time towards the end...not that any of this can be described as a good time I suppose.

The only reason I was put on the pred because I'm doing exams for my final year of Uni and doctor said if it wasn't that he would be pushing for an operation by now. I know things havn't been great but they've been better than earlier in the year...am I just pushing it off as nothing when it's actually building up or is it really not that bad?

I feel like I'm being pressured into this a bit by my doctor, every time I go to see him he talks about surgery, I'm only 20 years old and I really don't want to go through surgery at this age.

I am really confused and scared right now...can anyone help?

Perhaps you need a second oppinion? I that possible. It sounds like your dr is trying to put a band aid on a big wound. If you are douting him you might want to talk to someone else.
