Hey guys so I was in between weekly Humira treatments and starting Stelara. I started feeling better in the interim so I cancelled my Stelara. I feel better than I have in years and I'm only on LDN and 5mg pred. I still have mostly diarrhea and go 5ish times a day for sure. Cramps On occasion too (mornings, after over eating etc), and my anemia and back problems prevail. But in terms of my gut I feel like having the D isn't out of the norm and being underweight is just a cronie thing. What do you think? Do you fight your disease until you have no symptoms, or do you accept symptoms as part of your life as long as they aren't really debilitating? I feel at this point accepting my specific limitations (whether other ppl accept them or not) is the only way to do this. Letting my doctors try to 'cure' me feels like a big mistake I've made all these years, as it's just taken away precious and irretrievable years from my life, and other than my surgery, no meds or treatments have ever helped me (other than pred which I must get off soon).
I guess my question essentially is: cure w/meds VS treat w/lifestyle

Keep fighting by constantly looking at what you are eating and drinking and eliminating items with preservatives, etc..as your body feels better, work with your docs and keep reading up on it and make decisions that work best for you. I had been put on meds years back and eventually weaned off as I improved my overall health with diet changes, exercise changes, stress relieving changes...you have to do what works for you. Good luck!

I'm in remission thanks to medications but I still get D from certain foods I eat and also when I'm stressed thanks to some scarring in my terminal ilium. On my good days though, which are more plentiful than the bad, I'm relatively symptom free and that's what I think everyone should be able to obtain.
