Mercaptopurine and chap lips

My daughter started the Mercaptopurine two days ago and came home with chap lips today. I live in Florida so it is not from cold weather. Has anyone experienced this? Thank you in advance!

DS has had chapped lips on remicade.
Some kids just get chapped lips.
But remember 6-mp requires a lot of fluids
Does she drink a lot ( as in all day at school)
?

Also crohn's can manifest orally .

Yes, my daughter's lips would swell to the point of splitting and bleeding. I can't remember if she was on 6-mp at the time or not. Nothing helped though, it just eventually went away. Personally I think it was IBD related but I can't prove that.

The 6mp script does say to drink plenty of fluid. I also give her a water bottle to drink at school every day. She has never had chap lips before so I am thinking it is from the 6MP.
