I was wondering if anyone else has bad side effects with purine. Nothing works for my pain and pain management won't do anything. Maybe when I'm discharged I'll get a civilian doctor that works.

I'm on purine and remicade, but I'm also in pain management. The doctor from pain management only prescribed lyrica, which worked wonders on my cramps pain, bit has done nothing for the stabbing, sharp pains that plague me daily. When in pain, I got to the er, and they shoot me up with morphine, and that helps, and when I get discharged, they give me Percocet, and that works too. I'm just scared that doctors will think I'm a junkie if I say only that stuff helps......

That's the problem, I'm not in remission. Prednisone, Humana, pentasa, remicade, and 6 mp. Still no control.

Ok, so, now for some updates.
Last Friday, I checked into the ER because I was having a TON of stomach pain. After two bags of fluid, 3 doses of morphine and 1 of fentanyl, the doctor gave me a choice. Either I could be admitted, or she would get me 2days worth of pain melds and follow up with my GI on Monday. I couldn't be admitted because I felt like I was wasting time, as I am being retired on the 29th, and still had a lot to get done.
I walked down to the pharmacy, took a number and waited to be seen. After about 5 minutes, I was called back to the window. The lady behind the window handed me lopermine and nexium.c I was told that she couldn't give me the Percocet because I have an opioid contract with pain management, and only that doc can wrote scripts of it.
Not only had I not seen my pain mngt doctor in almost 3 months, but his treatments didn't help at all. After being told no meds for me, I turned around and checked back incoherent ER. The doctor got ahold of my pain doctor, got me 20 Percocet, and told me to follow up with pain management. On Monday.
My Crohns it seems is in a constant state of flare, and I had to discontinue mercaptopurine because in the two weeks I was taking it, my liver enzymes doubled.

Long story short, because I'm getting retired and I don't know when I will get a new GI or pain management doctor, my pain Dr wrote me a prescription of 240 Percocet. They work wonders on my pain, and help bind me up lol.
