Migraine meds that are contraindicated?

A few years back (pre-Crohn's) I was prescribed Fioricet (acetaminophen, butalbital, and caffeine) for occasional migraines. Took my last one today and as the RX is expired, will need to go in for renewal. Starting to feel a little crampy about an hour after taking... not sure if that is related. Seemed safe enough - no NSAIDS, which I have been restricted from "for life" by my GI (my hematologist thought that wording was really funny). Anyone take Fioricet and have it effect their Crohn's symptoms? Or experience with any other migraine meds that do or do not effect symptoms? I am not on any of the big pharma drugs (see list below) so have less likelihood of drug interactions.

Acetaminophen (called paracetamol here) always makes me feel a bit nauseous - it's not supposed to unless you take too much, but I've always found it does (it never helps with pain for me either!). But I think it's more likely the butalbital is causing you problems, as its side-effects include gastroenterological symptoms - diarrhoea, constipation, nausea, etc.

You can get migraine pills that don't include butalbital, usually containing paracetamol and codeine. For example, the brand Migraleve comes with two different pills - one contains paracetamol, codeine and buclizine (the buclizine treats the nausea which can occur with migraines); and the other version of Migraleve contains just the paracetamol and codeine. But there's really no need to buy a brand - you can probably buy a cheaper standard painkiller containing paracetamol and/or codeine and/or caffeine - at least, here in the UK you can.
