Milk of magnesia supply problems

I was recommended milk of magnesia for heartburn, but it seems there's some problem with it in the UK and the chemists aren't stocking it any more. Does anyone know about this and when it's likely to be in stock again? Are there any similar medicines available?

I'm not in the UK so I can't speak to that but surely you must have over the counter antacids and short term protease pump inhibitors?

I tried a pph in the past and have been taking ranitidine but neither work for me.
