MM and colonoscopy

So I've been using MM with great success. My doctor wants to do a routine colonoscopy. Should I worry about using mm just before my colonoscopy or when would you quit using if at all before the procedure? Thanks in advance.

I know that heavy cannabis users can have trouble with the drugs used to cause sedation during the procedure. I've dealt with it first hand....not pleasant! I had to get a triple dose of midzolam + fentanyl before I was "out"

There is also plenty of information out there on propofol and cannabis interactions. And by interaction I mean that it takes more propofol to knock out somebody with a high THC tolerance.

I took his question to mean whether the colonoscopy results would be affected by his cannabis use. I haven't experienced problems during anesthesia but I expect the anesthesiologist can compensate since some people have natural high levels of tolerance to certain anesthetics.

I figured that's what you meant, but I just wanted to add that little bit for the OP since I've personally experienced problems with the anesthesia after heavy cannabis use. It shouldn't be a problem as long as you tell your doctor. And from what I've read it seems to be a bigger problem with propofol.

Maybe OP can ask the GI when he gets his. I'd be interested to know. They don't use propofol much in Canada.
