Modulen and remission

Hi all,
I'v been on modulen via NG tube for just over 3 weeks now.
I was wondering is modulen can actually get you into remission or not, if it can hoe long would you say to stay on just modulen before staring food again to get into remission?

I can't say from firsthand experience as I haven't been on a Modulen diet, but I've read a statistic on the forum that said that enteral diets have about as good of a success rate for inducing remission as steroids do. As for how long it will take, I would imagine that would depend on how active & severe your illness is - hopefully your doctor can provide a better timeframe than I can. Are you feeling any better now than you were before you started on Modulen?

If I remember rightly I'v got moderate to server crohns. Felt awful about 3 weeks ago before I started this NG Feed and I'v never felt so good (well while in have had crohns Anyway) no pains nothing, just missing food abit, in January after my first admission to hospital with my first flair (just a month after being diognosed) i was put on a liquid diet but couldnt drink the correct amounts as the drinks are vilei, i weight 4st 10lbs, my lowest weight ever, and ever since then is just gone up and down, until I started infliximab when it worked the first dose and I ate like a pig, then it stopped working and symptoms started, so then NG come and I'm now 6st WAHOO! Loving my new body already, thanks to the NG tube and having the right amount of calaries (sorry if a male reads this part) my have had my first period, at the age of 17.

I'm loving how I am at the moment , well apart from the tube. And am now feeling more positive of that I'm most prob going to need an op, as its only 15cm of Bowel needs removing I think it would be best to give me a good 5 years remission. I am hoping to start college in September as I had to quit my first course due to illness.

Sorry about my life story up there ^ but this is me when I feel super mega happy
