That's a tough one, lad. I worry the same way about my son with Crohn's. Then I stop myself and remember how his brother was at the same age. The older one was sad, worn out, and cried a lot in middle school. Long story short, he graduated from college this spring and is an amazing and exceedingly happy young man. So when the younger one with Crohn's is crabby, pessimistic, and sleeps a lot, I try to chalk it up to "teenager-hood" and keep on keepin' on. Of course, nobody says you can't bring it up with the GI at every single visit (like I did) so YOU feel better for a little while.
