I've noticed in the past month or so that my lips and gums in my mouth have been "flaring". After I eat a meal, the mucous membranes in my mouth get inflamed. It doesn't matter what I eat, but acidic or spicy things cause more of a flare than other foods. There is no external visible changes, but I can feel the inside of my mouth feels inflamed and slightly puffy. Has anyone had this symptom? I'm in remission otherwise.

I have had this problem many times. I the last 8 months most of my flares are taking place in my mouth. My stomach seems fine right now, but the stores in my mouth are out of control and insanely painful. I have been on prednisone on and off since January and it helps the sores, but the painful inflammation that is barely viable seems to stay. It's mostly on my gums and tongue. It almost feels like it is burned or something. It is a horrible feeling. I'm sorry you are having to deal with this. I wish I had some better advise, but unfortunately steroids are the only thing that has worked for me, and the moment I ween off, the symptoms return. I hope someone else comes along with some advise for us both!

I have had it several times in the past and it's not much fun. On one occasion I remember it being so bad that I couldn't eat and was basically surviving on milkshakes (before I was lactose intolerant). I tried my best to treat the sores with mouth ulcer treatment but in a lot of cases, I had to wait until it had run it's course.

The last time I had it was just after they started me on Prednisolone and thankfully it seemed to bring it under control.

I hope you feel better soon.
