Hi everyone..I am moving in 3 weeks to the Chicago suburb of Glenview. I like many of you on here suffer from Crohn's. It has been such a struggle since my husband passed away in 2013. Both my crohn's and Lupus has been active to the point that I am now 100% bowel incontinent. I am on Humira and leflunamide for the crohn's but not really seeing any positive effects. I have been told that removing my colon would be the next step. Problem is I am moving to Chicago in 3 weeks and was wondering if anyone had any recommendation on Dr's. It's so overwhelming just thinking of the history I will have to give!

My guy is Dr. Stephen B Hanauer at Northwestern. He's one of the best. Following is his clinic nurse. Tell her I referred you. Can't promise he's taking new patients.

Also would be Dr. Reuben at U of Chicago.

Although ANY gastroenterologist at either of these facilities will get you access to BLEEDING edge research and care. You may be a unicorn with your current doc, but at one of these hospitals, you're just another horse.

All my best. Feel free to contact me with any other questions. Dan

Very much agree with IlDan. I fly from out of state to Chicago for appointment with him and fly back the same day. LOL! Gotta Love Denise and Jamie.

P.S. They just relocated from the Galter/Feinberg Building across the street from the Northwestern E.R.
