Hi just got my daughter bowel MRI scan results normal and she has had camera up and down all normal.
Has anyone else had this but has a high fecal caliproctine test level 227 and ANA bloods 1-642
Could this still be crohns or colitis

Ok with kids it can all be normal .
DS is prime example
No diarrhea just constipated
Ct scan x2 normal
Mre normal
1 upper scope normal
Blood work normal
Visual upper lower second scope looked normal
Only his biopsy results were abnormal
That took over a year and a half to get to that point

Plus three different Gi 's all agreed he has crohn's
Hugs

I would ask the doc if he/she is willing to perform upper/lower scopes. It is really the only way you'll be able to put your mind to rest.

Is your daughter being evaluated by a rheumatologist for other autoimmune disorders? Whoever ran these tests, what did they say?

It is not typical for there to be such a high ANA level in Croihn's patients. This high a level is usually found in patients with connective tissue disease. Other immune disorders besides Crohn's will give GI symptoms so it may not be Crohn's.

Here's a link with more information about the lab tests of

Hi kathleens, I see you requested additional support. Yes many people on the forum have had tests that came back normal. It can take a long time for some people to get a concrete diagnosis unfortunately.

When were the scopes done and were biopsies taken? There are other tests that could be done such as a pill cam, small bowel follow through, CT scan etc.

Hi Kathleens,
My daughter has had four colonoscopies, an MRI, the camera pill, three upper GIs with and without pass through, and everything came back normal. The biopsies showed some inflammation, but nothing was visible to the eye. This has been the case since she first got sick five years ago. Her labs have been way out of whack with calprotectin levels of out of the stratosphere, but the scopes looked normal. It's very frustrating.
One thing I've learned through this experience is that there are no rules.

Thank you everyone for replying to myself my daughter had the the fecal caliproctine test MARCH 2012 and again SEPT 2012 which was 227. Then the upper and lower scope NOV 2012 which the doc at the time said alot of red spots but didnt look like crohns or colitis , when we saw the consultant she said we all have blemishes so that what it would have been as no imflammation. I also asked her fecal caliproctine high and she said my be raised because of cold , sore throat etc, but three weeks before she told us FECAL CALIPROCTINE CAN ONLY BE RAISED BY COLITIS OR CROHNS. Bowel MRI with drink mannitol 3 bottles JAN 2013 results the other day by letter all NORMAL . Yes think they are just looking into all things of auto immune diseases.
