Hi all,
Well i have had a very hard 3 weeks, i went to see my doc with a bit more pain than usual and also tummy bloating and not pooping for at least 5 days, he sent me to hospital, it all started from there on wed the 20th of June.
The hospital though i had a blockage so addmited me and put me on clear fluids only which was not to bad as i hadn't had any appitite at all for longer than i can remember, i stayed on clear fluids for over a week .
I had a MRI scan which showed " A segment of thickened terminal ileum is present in the right iliac fossa forming a U loop with aprox 16 cm of terminal ileum involved. Distal sigmoid colon & rectum do show some increased signal intensity within the wall which reflect Crohn's Colitis"
On mon 2nd july I had surgery, a Right Hemicolectomy, I have had other types of surgery before but this was the most painful surgery I have ever had.
It took 7 days for my Bowel to wake up after surgery, I pooped before i passed wind and my first poop was so painful and it is still painful to poop now. 6 days after surgury my doc had to reopen one of my wounds as my stomach was filling up with excess fluid that my body was not reobsorbing and had a bag attached for 3 days for it to drain into.
What is Ulcerated Cobblestone mucoas and Crypt Abscess ?? cause thats what my summary is talking about, it also talks about 5 lymph nodes showing changes.
My doc also would like to see how im going at the end of August and start me on Infliximab and that worries me also, im still on all my pre op meds as well , now home and doing so much better now.

Ulcerated Cobblestone mucosa means that the lining which is normally smooth has a "cobblestone" (think of a stone road make out of small round river rocks placed close together) appearance and has ulcers. Here's a link that shows Crypt Abscess: http://www.pathguy.com/~tdemark/0068.htm It's not something I fully understand but hopefully the picture will help. You can find images of cobblestoning on google too if you wanted to see it.

Glad you're home now and doing better. Hope things keep looking up!

I have no experience with Infliximab but you can check out the subforum on it: http://www.crohnsforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=58
