My New Blog, and a New Tablet

Hi everyone, I love this forum so much and it's given me so much help and support. Because of this I have recently started a Crohnies' blog!!

I will be talking about crohnsforum.com very often because it has helped me so much! If you have the time, please check it out. And if you have a blogger account, I would be very greatful if you would follow it (I will follow your blog back if you like!)

But so that this post isn't entirely shameless self promotion, my doctor recently told me about a steroid which isn't Prednisolone. I don't remember the name, but it began with a "B". If anyone has taken this before, what side effects have you suffered (my main concern being the hair loss and moonface, being a 16 year old girl!!) and has it helped you?

Hi there, I think they may mean Budesonide which is a less 'invasive' steroid on the system. I was fine on it for a while but then started to get long purple stretch marks on my arms and legs, my doctor put this down to the Budesonide causing my body to create too much 'medical word I can't remember' and this made the skin stretch and then contract causing the marks. This is definitly not something everyone gets so don't be worried. I would say this is a better alternative to try over something like Prednisolone.

Budesonide is supposed to have less side effects than pred. Many have done well with it. Another name it can be called is Entocort. If you use the search field, I bet you can find a lot of threads on the subject.
