Hi everyone! I'm a new member but I've been lurking the forum for about a month or so. Anyway, I wanted to share my story. I'm a 22 year old mom of 2. I'm typing from my phone so please excuse any misspellings!

Let me start out by saying I've literally been constipated since birth. Up until the last few years, I thought it was normal to cry during bowel movement and plug the toilet EVERY TIME because my bms were so large.
Fast forward to early April 2012, I start exercising and eating salads daily to lose the last of my pregnancy weight. After 2 weeks, instead of losing even a pound, I spend 48 hours in a large amount of abdominal pain that came on suddenly. I finally caved and went to the ER because I could hardly take care of my kids, the pain was so bad. The doctors assumed it was kidney stones, but a ct scan showed I had colitis. The doc prescribed antibiotics and sent me home. A week after the meds the pain was back along with bloody, mucosy diarrhea. A fecal test showed C. Diff and I was treated for that. Once I was cleared of c. Diff, I was/am still having symptoms. Diarrhea all day and night, constant urgency to go, pain, loud stomach noises, joint/muscle pains, headaches, dizziness.. the somewhat non liquid d is extremely pencil thin.. sometimes I just want to disappear and give up. To make it worse, I've been breastfeeding this entire time so I am completely drained. I am 10 pounds below my pre pregnancy weight, and while I'm thrilled, this is not how I wanted to lose the weight. I have never felt so unhealthy!
Also, I'm afraid to tell my doctor when I am in pain because I am a drug addict who's been in recovery for a couple years, and I don't want my doc to think I'm just trying to get drugs. Next week I have my first colonoscopy, so fingers crossed I get diagnosed! I just want to get on with my life, I hate feeling like my body is turning on me.

I am glad you have scope planned. That should be able to provide answers and hopefully treatment. Good luck!

First let me say, congratulation on being drug free.
A lot of people never reach that goal and mess up their lives big time.
Ok second my little girl also had c. diff and is now looking at IBD.
Third, if your having pencil thin poop, that could mean your impacted.
Hard stool is stuck and the liquids stool is slipping around it.
My girl also has this and is on Miralax to help it soften and move the hard stool along.
Please call the doc and let him know. Be honest with him and see what he says.
Remember, your going to need a good doc if IBD is going to dx.
Please let us know how it goes. Hand in their mom it will get better.

Wow, you are amazing to deal with all of this pain while raising kids, a newborn especially! I really admire your strength and courage. I hope you can have some answers and relief soon!!
