Hi, I didn't see my previous post so I will start again. I have had crohns disease since I was a teenager and I am now 53. I didn't get diagnosed until 2000 after years of flare ups and doctors shaking their heads. My crohns has been so active lately that I have lost 41 pounds in the last month and still going down. I know what it is like trying to figure out what to eat that won't hurt me.
To all of you out there that are fairly new to this disease please remember, you are not alone, however you can live a relatively good quality of life if you don't let the disease control you. I know there are flare ups they make it tough, but if you can find a drug that helps you along with diet you can have good days. I am getting ready to start Humira to help control mine right now because of the severity of my crohns. I still get up everyday with a smile on my face and tell myself, I will not let crohns beat me today and somedays are good and somedays are bad, but the main thing is accepting that you have this disease and live your life. I have had countless tests that came out negative but still have flare ups and it is very frustrating and I even went through a year of depression with it. Since I have had this disease a number of years feel free to ask me any questions that might help in any way. We are all in this together.
